Speech Meet

Students in first through fifth grade develop public speaking skills by participating in Speech Meet. The purpose of Speech Meet is to help students develop communication skills and techniques to speak audibly, articulately, and expressively, exhibiting poise and confidence.
Students choose a selection and spend several weeks memorizing it at home with the help of their parents, in addition to practicing at school. During the Speech Meet, students present their selection before three judges who score them and provide encouraging comments and helpful feedback.
