OUR STORY :

For over five decades, Penn Christian Academy has educated thousands of children in quality Christian academics and values. Founded in 1966, originally as Penn Square Christian Day School, it was started in Penn Square Community Church on Hillcrest Ave. Pastor John Garvin and Educational Director Marie Forsyth Riddle founded the school with 17 nursery school children, expanding to kindergarten in 1969, grades one to four in 1972, and grades five and six in 1977.

Grades seven and eight were added subsequently throughout the years. The founding headmaster Richard G. Johnson, always had the vision that the school would be a place to “minister to the whole child.” Recognizing that they were outgrowing their current facilities, they were granted permission to relocate to the former Penn Square School (founded in 1847) located at 50 W. Germantown Pike. On July 1, 1980, the school was reorganized as Penn Christian Academy — an independent,  non-denominational Christian School.

In recent years, PCA made the expansion to include preschool starting at ages 6 weeks and expanding our competitive education platform to include high school and college preparatory classes.
